Mary worked for 10 years providing individual and family therapy, serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and adults with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She has extensive training in deafness, Deaf culture, counseling issues with deaf/hard of hearing, hearing loss and its impact on family systems. Mary co-founded a nonprofit organization to focus on proactive intervention and parent education and empowerment. Her trainings focus on impact of language deprivation, language delay, impact of hearing loss on child development and family systems, and access to supports. She transitioned to Able South Carolina to further expand her efforts to improve accessibility to all people with disabilities.
